After learning all their single sounds, children will really start to enjoy blending these sounds to read short simple consonant-vowel-consonant words (cvc words). These one syllable cvc words can be divided into two sections; the onset and the rime. The onset is the initial sounds that precede the vowel. The rime contains the first vowel and any proceeding letters. This game is perfect to play when your students have learned single sounds and are ready to read and spell words!
